The session will start with an informal presentation and discussion of the IDFA Institute, festival and markets, describing the different points of access for filmmakers and projects according to their needs and strategies. Together, we will put IDFA in the larger context of markets presentations and strategizing, to best chart a path for each participant that is sustainable and efficient in developing networks, films and hopefully long careers.

Meet your Host:
Selin Murat, IDFA Markets Manager
As co-founder of Canadian based Parabola films, Selin Murat started her career as a creative producer, producing author-driven documentaries for festivals, theatres and broadcast. In 2017, Selin became film programmer and head of Industry at Montreal’s RIDM where she built strong relationships between Quebec and the international industry. Since summer 2021, she is based in Europe and works as Markets Manager at Amsterdam’s IDFA, where she runs the design and innovation of the FORUM and DOCS FOR SALE, continuing to support a sustainable ecosystem for the international documentary film industry.
