03 Jun 2 Alumni Projects Selected for DFM Official Projects at Durban FilmMart 2022
The Durban FilmMart Institute announced 30 projects selected to be part of this year’s Durban FilmMart and included in those 30 were two Alumni projects.
IEFTA Festival Strategist Riaya Aboul Ela and Content Consultant Fred Greene served as panelists for Durban International Film Festival’s Pitch competition, participating virtually at Africa’s largest and most important film market and festival. Over three days, they reviewed presentations and footage, meeting with the makers of inspiring projects comprising narrative features, documentaries, animated films and series TV.
The Documentary Features category included ‘50 Meters’ (Egypt ) by Producer Ahmed Amer and Director, Yomna Khattab, and the Fiction Features Category selection included Aisha Can’t Fly Away Anymore (Egypt/Sweden) produced by Sawsan Yusuf and Director, Morad Mostafa.
Under the theme of Revolution//Evolution – Changing The Narrative, the 13th Durban FilmMart took place from 22 – 31 July 2022 as both a virtual event and a 3-day physical event. Find out more at the DFM website.
