IEFTA are pleased to announce that this year Zahraa Ghandour has been selected to attend IFFR’s Rotterdam Lab to be held on 30 Jan – 9 Feb! Every year, Rotterdam Lab invites exceptional emerging film producers to attend the festival, nominated and selected by IFFR Pro’s international partners. This year, IEFTA’s participant was selected through our partnership with the Rawiyat Collective, a collective of women filmmakers from the Middle East, North Africa & the diaspora.

About Zahraa

Zahraa was born in 1991 and is based in Baghdad. She is a filmmaker, independent actor and executive producer, and founder of the KARADA film production company in Baghdad. Zahraa is already an IEFTA alumna, having been selected for the IEFTA Mentorship award at El Gouna Film Festival CineGouna Springboard Platform back in 2021 with her project Mother of Silence. We were thrilled to have the opportunity to renew support to the talented Zahraa when the Rawiyat Collective put her forward as a candidate for IFFR!
