TFL Next IEFTA Award (supported by IEFTA) – An Invitation to participate in the TFL Next online workshop in 2026 was awarded to “Nomvula” [She Who Brings the Rain] (South Africa) at this year’s Durban FilmMart 2025 directed by Sibusiso Khuzwayo, and produced by Kethiwe Ngcobo. Marco Orsini, IEFTA’s Ambassador and Angelica Cantisani, Torino FilmLab’s Programmes Coordinator were in Durban to present the award.
This coming of age musical drama is set in a South African coastal village in the 1950s, wherein resides Nomvula, a spirited 15-year-old girl. Amidst the village’s timeless traditions and unwavering customs, Nomvula’s fiery determination sets her apart from her peers.
