Open Call for Fiction or Documentary Producers
The Great Lakes Creative Producers Lab is super excited to launch the 2025 call for applications and invite all feature fiction and documentary filmmakers from Uganda, Kenya, Burundi, Tanzania, Rwanda, Ethiopia, and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) to apply for their 5th Edition of the Lab!
Fiction Producers
The Great Lakes Creative Producer Lab is open to any producer formally attached to a full-length, fiction feature film currently in its development stage. Applicants must control the rights to the project with which they apply.
Documentary Producers
Open to any producer formally attached to a documentary film currently in its development stage. Applicants must own the IP rights to the project with which they apply and must have a director attached to the project.
About Great Lakes Creative Producers Lab
Great Lakes Creative Producers Lab is a project development lab to bring together creative producers from East and West Africa. This program is meant to address some of the challenges that exist in the film ecosystem across Africa where the role of a creative producer is not always well understood. Their mission and goal is to increase the number of creative producers in Africa, equip producers with the required resources and tools, to strengthen their skills in the film development stage in order to create greater opportunities and access to the global markets.
