Round-up Cannes ’19 Filmmakers

The IEFTA had another successful year in Cannes – bringing 6 filmmakers from around the globe to the South of France to participate in Marché du Film’s Industry Workshops Program.

The filmmakers attended 3 days of classes with top professionals in the industry, learning about new industry trends, film financing, co-production and distribution, while sharing their experience and goals, and building their networks.

To compliment the program, IEFTA organised one-on-one mentor meetings for the filmmakers, providing particular in-depth focus on individual projects, challenges and career development.

To close out the 6 days in Cannes, IEFTA hosted a Private Brunch at the Beach, celebrating the filmmakers and offering them a unique opportunity to apply their recent training, pitch their projects, discuss the industry and make valuable contacts and connections.

I highly valued how much the IEFTA team was alert to our interests and our projects needs, especially when they programmed and ran the meetings. The meetings have been very focused, smooth and worthwhile. Presenting your projects to broad-minded professionals in 1 to 1 meetings prompts you to evolve an edge to the film. The whole IEFTA team was rich and helpful - To be backed up by such a team is a great assurance.

I thank IEFTA for giving me this opportunity of a lifetime. I thank the IEFTA Team for seeing Bhutan as a socially growing responsible film industry and the fact that we have a potential future of the cinematic leader in the region.
