13 Jan ‘American Dream’ Wins IEFTA GFE Initiative Award
At the recently concluded 43rd Annual Cairo International Film Festival, the IEFTA Team was on hand for meetings, premieres, panels and pitches. This years IEFTA’s Global Film Expression Initiative Award, comprising development support and career mentoring, goes to the “American Dream” project and its capable filmmakers. We’re thrilled to be involved.
A collaboration between director Amir El-Shenawy and producer Ahmed Abdelsalam, American Dream is a feature documentary currently in development that tracks the extraordinary ambition of three amateur wrestlers and their veteran coach as they fight to establish a World Wrestling Entertainment-like circuit in Egypt, sharing their passion with audiences while creating new opportunities for themselves.
